01001001 00100111 Drunken bunnies never bounce
01110110 01100101 Lay on the ground
- - - - - - - - - maybe flounce
00100000 01100110 What will happen
- - - - - - - - - I dunno

01100001 01101100 But I can hear them
- - - - - - - - - Inahole

01101100 01100101 I have a trap that I will set
01101110 00100000 Carrots and beer and
- - - - - - - - - bunny net

01100001 01101110 I must stop the hare from haze
01100100 00100000 To catch and sober
- - - - - - - - - Outta daze

01100011 01100001 Can not rest till job is done
01101110 00100111 I must end sin-thetic fun
01110100 00100000 So I will stop circumstance
01100111 01100101
And pomp
01110100 00100000 Then I’ll stomp this
01110101 01110000 Bunny romp

My Happily-Ever-After

Monday, May 7th, 2007

I got an email from a colleague today about a recent poem I wrote for Cyndi it said “I used write like that about my wife, I think I need to again…” among other things, but it was that line that stood out to me the most. It got me thinking about my relationship and how this, unlike all others I’ve been in, is still new, even after two years. Love has not become a chore, caring does not seem like something I ‘have’ to do, my trust, respect, and admiration still grow daily.

So I ask, is this a storybook relationship? Are we really that far outside the norm? And if we are doing something ‘right’ does that imply that so many people are really doing something ‘wrong’?

I am grateful that I have found my happily-ever-after and I hope and pray that all of you can as well.

True Love and Waking Up Happy

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Some days are naturally better then others, today is one of those days. Sometimes it can be better because of what happened on that day, other times it can be all the things that led up to the day. Today is a little of both.

You see yesterday I worked my tail off (see my Rainy Weekends) and when I it was time for bed I was most certainly ready. Once under the covers Cyndi and I held each other and talked for a while about nothing extra significant. Eventually we both fell asleep (still holding each other) and after several hours of sleep we were awoken by the alarm, still holding each other!

Words can not really explain how wonderful of a feeling that is, but putting words together in the form of a poem is a good start:

 A hug last night
Arms entwined as we unwind
While wrapped in warmth and comfort
Pay attention every touch
We massage away the hurt

Wile away the while
Saying how our day was nice
We nestle in a love embrace
Then we slumber, paradise

The time ticks by, as we sleep
My dreams are of only you
As you hold me through the night
You are dreaming of me too

The morning sun, the cock it crows
The bell rings the snooze is pressed
Waking in each others arms
Then soon we must both be dressed

Another day has begun
The cycle, it starts anew
I know this day will be grand
For I started it with you

When things just fall into place, there is very little that can detract from the grandness of life. I’m happy to be alive, and more importantly, I’m happy to be in love!

Cynthia, I love you!

Rainy Weekends

Monday, May 7th, 2007

While rain was desperately needed (we are 9 inches behind this year already!!!) I really wish that it would not rain on the weekends. You see my weekends are generally one of two things; having fun outside or working my tail off outside. When it rains I often can not do either one, and that’s bad. When it just rains on one day, that forces me to cram everything into the other day. This isn’t so bad when it’s a ‘fun’ weekend but on work weekends it’s just blood sweat and tears ~ OK, generally not tears.

It rained most of the day Saturday, and it was a work weekend. Sunday, I got up at 8 and was out the door by 8:30. We headed out to the Amish to get our weekly installment of  vegables (some people can’t spell vegables can they Cyndi  ). On the way back we swung by to pick up a quick breakfast, and once home it was to the yard! Cyndi rode the riding mower for the next several hours as I built an extension onto the henhouse so they could have a bit of a safe yard to scratch on. Then we rested for a little bit and then Cyndi worked in the house (laundry, dishes, etc) while I gave Cletus a flea bath (with DIP). After dinner it was back to the yard to put the finishing touches on the coop, and to touch up the yard with the push mower & trimer.

After that, it was two hours on the computer and then seven and a half hours in bed…

Today is starting off to be a grand one though. Perrin is just cute as a button (as usual) and has made his Unci well up in tears of joy as he did something so adorably cute there was just no other reaction that could have been justified (i ov uo… oo). I ran out to feed the chickens and they were ecstatic when I opened up the window so they could hop out into their new yard. I petted Cletus and while he’s not tick-free, he’s maybe got dozens rather then hundred. (Tonight its cat baths *cackle*).

Baby on board!

Baby on board

Gleefully borrowed from Blackwingbear

All those little yellow signs have always annoyed me and I was so happy when that fad was over. So while it maybe have taken ten years, I’m certainly glad people are still making fun of it.

Just a few days ago even, I saw a station wagon with wooden side panels, and a yellow “baby on board” sign. I was WTF…that baby better be a grand child, or that lady has had that little sign swaying in her window since nineteen-eighty-four.

Now I wonder what would happen if you stuck the sign above in your car window…
